EDLD 5318-Instructional Design in Online Learning
| 1. Who are the learners who will be in your course? | 8th grade resource math students |
| 2. What is your teaching style? | My teaching style aligns closet to that of a constructivist. |
| 3. Have you taught in an online or blended environment? | This is my second year teaching in a blended learning environment. |
| 4. What is your level of experience with the content and with technology? | This is my third year teaching 8th graders. |
| 5. What learning or pedagogical theories support online or blended learning? | Constructivism and Connectivism |
| 6. If you have been working as a collaborative team, how do you feel about teaching an online or blended course independently? | I am nervous about teaching a blended course independently but also excited to see how my students will progress. |
| 7. How will you ensure the success of your learners in this course? | First, I will plan with the end in mind. Secondly, I will try to make the course very user friendly. |
| 8. What do you want learners to know and be able to do when they have completed your course? | Not only do I want them to have mastered the concepts of expressions, equations and inequalities, I would like them to leave confident about online coursework. |
| 9. How will you determine that they have reached the goal and objectives you have set? | I will review data form the quizzes and test over the unit to see how well they mastered the concept. I will also look at the discussions to see how they are feeling about the online course. |
| 10. What resources will your learners need for your course? | Computer or ipad to access the course, calculator, Go Math Book |
| 11. Where will you put them? | Everything will be uploaded to the schoology course. |
| 12. How will learners access the resources? | There is a class set of ipads for students to use. Also each student has already been given a Go Math book. Calculators are also located in the classroom. Students also have the choice of checking a calculator out of the library to take home. |

How will you divide or “chunk” the learning activities into meaningful increments to help learners build or scaffold their learning? | The unit will be divided into 5 cohesive lessons that build off of each other. Each lesson will be set up the same with different activities for each based on the objective. |
| 14. How will you integrate readings, videos, discussions, and activities for meaningful learning? | Videos, discussions and assignments will be tailored to the specific topic for that lesson. |
| 15. What active learning experiences will you provide for your learners? | This is still something that I am working on. Right now I only have students interacting with each other on their discussion posts. |
| 16. What will your assessment (both formative and summative) look like? | I have quizzes that will be part of every lesson as well as a test at the end of the unit. Discussion post will also be included to see how students are progressing. |
| 17. What LMS or course building tool will you use to house your course? | Schoology. |
| 18. Will learners need training on how to use the course management tool? | Students will not need in-depth training but I will walk through the site with them. |
| 19. How will you provide that? | During class I will pull up the site and walk the students through each lesson. |
| 20. How is your system managed/filtered for learners? | Clear and concise. Easy for students to navigate. |

| 22. How and where will they submit assignments? | Students will upload assignments into schoology. |

| 24. How will you communicate with learners? | Through discussion post and during class since this is a hybrid course. |
| 25. If your learners are K-12, how will parents be involved? | Parents will be notified that students will be required to complete an online module. |
| 26. How will you update your course? | Course will be updated as needed when students start course and I see how they are progressing |
