Influencer Strategy

Currently in the special education classroom there is not authentic student-centered way for students to display what they have learned.  My goal is to provide every student with choice, ownership, voice and authenticity in their learning.

In order to accomplish this goal there is going to have to be some degree of change to the current teaching methods.  Change, at the very least, is difficult especially in a school district.

Desired Results:

By the end of the 2018-2019 school year, 65% of teachers will implement student-centered blended learning environments.

Vital Behaviors:

  1. Plan professional developments that allow teachers to create student centered learning experiences.
    1. Experiences that allow for learners to be authentic; i.e choice on assignments and how learning is displayed
  2. Teachers will collaborate on ideas for changing from a teacher-centered environment to a learner-centered environment .
  3. Analyze the benefits of providing students with choice and voice.

Measures:

  1. Classroom observations by administration to ensure online modules are being implemented into lessons.
  2. Student interviews to see if there has been an increase in engagement and student focused learning.
  3. Lessons plans reviewed weekly for blended learning.

Organization Influencers

  1. Administrators
